Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark Know Where They'd Like to Get Married
The Vanderpump Rules couple gives all the details on their engagement and upcoming wedding.
We know it's only been less than a week since Beau Clark popped the question to Stassi Schroeder, and we hate to cut the engagement celebration short, but we're consumed with curiosity over what the Vanderpump Rules couple has up their sleeves for their wedding. They did get engaged in a cemetery, after all.
But don't expect Stassi and Beau to say "I do" at a gravesite on Halloween. “No, I think the spookiness ends with the engagement,” Stassi recently told PEOPLE. "I feel like I don’t want my weddings to be like, tacky.”
Instead, Stassi said that she and Beau are thinking about tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy, where the groom was raised. However, Stassi said in the August 2 episode of her podcast, Straight Up with Stassi, as reported by PEOPLE, “All I know is I want my wedding to be small, but in Europe. I won’t give the exact country just yet."
Stassi added that she'd like to keep the wedding small and invite "only people we love."
The Hollywood Forever cemetery where Stassi and Beau got engaged is still an incredibly romantic setting for the couple. “I like going to each grave and each tomb or mausoleum and reading the names and seeing the dates, and imagining who those people were, what their lives were like, what they were wearing, if they were bratty or fun, you know? If they liked to drink a lot of alcohol,” Stassi, who, as Vanderpump Rules fans know, has an affinity for the macabre, explained to PEOPLE. “I love history and whenever Beau and I go on trips, or go out of the country, he always takes me to a new cemetery. So I’ve seen so many different ones with him, and it just felt like just, I don’t know, just me. I love it. I don’t think it’s morbid. I think cemeteries are just full of so much love and history.”
Beau had actually been planning on proposing to Stassi since January, but he told her he wouldn't be ready this year so she wouldn't suspect anything. “He has been tricking me and torturing me for the past six months!” Stassi said.
Beau was even planning on enlisting the help of Lala Kent's fiancé and movie producer Randall Emmett to help him find a production designer to build a fake mausoleum where he could propose. But when Stassi suggested they tour the Hollywood Forever cemetery, Beau knew that would be the perfect time to pop the question. He had a friend hide a ring box shaped like an urn near a bench by the pond, which Beau pretended to notice and pick up before he proposed.
Stassi and Beau celebrated their engagement with friends and family at another important Vanderpump Rules locale: Lisa Vanderpump's home Villa Rosa.
The couple still has a long way to go in their wedding planning, but they've already figured out one important detail. Stassi unveiled their official wedding hashtag on Instagram earlier this month: "#FromDarkToClark."
