Sutton Stracke Reacts to Dorit Kemsley Joking That She's "Trying to Buy Your Friendships"
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer has been known to give the ladies lavish gifts.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ladies' time in Rome was made even more fabulous, thanks to Sutton Stracke.
In the August 5 episode of RHOBH, Sutton not only gifted all her friends with a pair of rain boots customized with their initials, but she also treated Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley to a private shopping trip at Dolce & Gabbana. Of course, this was already on top of the heavy gift bags she gave the group when they attended the opening of her West Hollywood boutique earlier this season, which included a beautiful handbag.
Dorit playfully spoke about Sutton showering the group with gifts during an interview in the August 5 episode of RHOBH. "First, she gives me a gorgeous handbag. Then, I get the rain boots. Now, this experience," Dorit said of the D&G shopping extravaganza. "It's like, are you trying to buy your friendships? If she is, well, it's nice to have friends in high places."
Sutton responded to Dorit's comment on Twitter as the episode aired, and it sounds like she was in good humor about it. "I don’t buy friendships," Sutton tweeted. "I just buy clothes."
Dorit and Kyle expressed their sincere gratitude to Sutton for the shopping trip and the rain boots on Instagram.
Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Garcelle Beauvais also showed their appreciation for the rain boots on Twitter.
Sutton explained the inspiration for the rain boots gift during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, which you can view, above. "Well, I think it was a joke. Somebody said, 'Sutton, can't you get us some really sparkly rain boots,' because we were looking at the weather forecast in Rome," she recalled. "And I was like, 'Why, yes. Yes, I can do that.'"
Dorit also said in the RHOBH After Show that Sutton "was really sweet" to get them all that gift, while Erika Girardi revealed that she even got a lot of use out of them even beyond the Roman holiday. "I wore them in New York the entire time I was in Chicago, so thank you, Sutton," she said in the RHOBH After Show. "They were awesome, they were so cool, and I wore them, and thank you, they were f--king dope."
Sutton remembered how grateful Erika was to have received that gift and called her "a sweetheart" during the RHOBH After Show. She also explained her philosophy when it comes to gift giving in general. "I think any gift giving, if it comes from your heart and it's meaningful, you know, I wanted to do something fun for all of us collectively. Again, it's like going to a slumber party and bringing matching pajamas for everybody. It was just fun. It's like in the nature of fun and bonding and bringing us together," Sutton shared. "So, yeah, I think if it's sincere, it doesn't matter how small or big, it's meaningful to somebody."
