Tabatha Coffey’s 10 Best Barbershops in the Country
Where can you get a shave -- and play Xbox?
Tabatha Coffey knows salons, but she's had her eye on a different kind of chop shop lately. "Barbershops are becoming cool and trendy again," the small business saver tells USA Travel, along with naming her 10 favorite spots across the country.
Live in the Los Angeles area? Then Tabatha urges a trip to The Proper Barbershop. "They'll give you your basic buzz cut if that's what you want, but they can also give you something that's more trendy and edgy," the Tabatha Takes Over head honcho says. And they'll even pass you a beer and Xbox controller.
Following in those hipster-meets-retro footsteps, The Blind Barber in NYC offers a complimentary cocktail—and pizza menu! "It feels a little bit like an old boy's club, which isn't a bad thing if you're getting a haircut and shave," T raves.
Now, after one sip too many in NOLA, swing by Magazine St. Barber Shop. "If you've had a long night out enjoying New Orleans, you can get a nice steam towel on your face and a shave, and you can feel all refreshed to do it all over again," the It's Not Really About the Hair author promises.
