After suffering from a burst hernia, Tamra has revealed that doctors “had to reconstruct my whole stomach," she tells E! News. "It was really, really bad. I almost died."
Thankfully, the procedure was not fatal and after undergoing emergency surgery because her "intestines were dying," Tamra recuperated for five days in the hospital, she notes.
"The scary thing was I was supposed to go to Mexico the next morning and had I gotten on the airplane, they said it probably wouldn't have been able to get down in time," Tamra says.
Since Tamra sought medical attention, she’s healthy and happy. And she now lives with a metal plate in her stomach. But Tamra has managed to keep a positive attitude about things.
"I have, like, abs of steel!" she says.
Tamra has been dealt with a series of emotional blows. She recently revealed that she attempted suicide twice due to a series of bad relationships. "Feeling stuck in that situation caused me to try and [kill myself] again. I didn't know what to do," she said. But since getting married to new hubby Eddie Judge, her life has changed for the better. "[Life] is just so much more meaningful," she said. "It is amazing."
Tamra's OC Wedding premieres Sept. 2 at 8/7c on Bravo.
