Tamra Judge Clarifies What's Happening with Her Granddaughter's Health

The #RHOC vet discusses Ava Ryan on The Doctors.

Tamra Judge appeared on The Doctors Wednesday to discuss her granddaughter Ava Ryan's rumored health issues and the attention she's received in the last month — with a healthy dose of humor. In January, Tamra and Ava's mother Sarah went on the record that Ava does, in fact, only have one functioning kidney due to multi-cystic dysplastic kidney, but was not "facing a scary medical crisis" as Radar Online had reported.

How to Watch

"My granddaughter is not having a health crisis as reported. Yes she has only one functioning kidney, she is healthy and happy despite what was reported today," Tamra said in a Facebook post on January 8. On that same date, Sarah spoke to Real Mr. Housewife about the child, sharing that "long term, they want to see her every six months with an ultrasound so they can make sure whatever caused the left kidney to disintegrate doesn’t happen to the right kidney.”

On The Doctors, the Real Housewives of Orange County grandma was able to laugh off all the speculation around Ava, and offer an update on how she is doing today.

"I'm here to set the record straight: it was taken by aliens, the kidney," she joked on the talk show with Sarah by her side. The women also confirmed that one kidney is "functioning perfectly and compensating for the other." Sarah also noted that the baby is doing "amazing."
