Tamra Judge Says Coronavirus Outbreak "Could Be Lethal" for Ex Simon Barney
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum is currently fighting stage 3 throat cancer.
While everyone is concerned for their health and well-being as well as that of their loved ones amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Tamra Judge is especially worried about her ex-husband, Simon Barney, who is currently battling stage 3 throat cancer.
Tamra opened up about how her family is doing during this difficult time in an interview with Us Weekly on March 17. “I am worried about Simon. As you all know, last month he went public with his cancer diagnosis,” she said. “Having a disease that compromises his immune system means that this could be lethal for him.”
Tamra went on to say that this has also been trying for their whole family, including Simon's fiancée of nine years, Catushia Ienni, as well as Tamra and Simon's three children, Sidney, 21, Spencer, 19, and Sophia, 14. “He is doing everything he can to protect himself, as is his fiancée, Catushia. She is his sole caregiver and now has to be extremely cautious as well,” Tamra told Us Weekly. “Due to the fact that he is immune-compromised, the kids also can’t be around him, which is heartbreaking for them and for him as well.”
She added, "As their mother, this is very, very hard to watch and our family is simply having a very tough time."
Tamra shared that she is just "praying for a cure and for us all to get through this."
Simon went public with his cancer diagnosis in February. He has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments in an effort to combat the cancer, which have been incredibly difficult to go through, he told PEOPLE in an interview last month.
Still, Tamra and Simon, whose family has been through some tough times since their divorce in 2011, agree that this hardship has brought them all closer together. “The kids were split after the divorce and chose sides but, at the end of the day, none of that matters,” Tamra said during an interview with PEOPLE in February. “All we have to do is rally together to make it through this.”
