Tamra Judge Opens Up About Her New Family Member

UPDATED (July 7, 1:27 P.M.): Tamra Judge just gave her followers another look at her brand new dog, Rugby — and she revealed how he's settling in to her family.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 2 alum took to her Instagram Stories on July 6 to answer questions from fans. When one asked how Rugby was fitting in with her and husband Eddie Judge, Tamra shared a video of the pup interacting with her granddaughter, Ava.

"Very well," Tamra wrote in the caption of the Instagram Story video. "But he loves the couch."

The original story continues below.

The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge said goodbye to her beloved dog, Bronx, on July 4 last year. One year after her pup’s passing, Tamra took to Instagram to reflect on the sad anniversary of her dog’s passing.

“A year ago today we were making plans to say [goodbye] to Bronx after 14 years,” she wrote. “The morning of July 4th still hurts to the bone.” However, Tamra also had a joyful update to share, and it has to do with a new pit bull that she and Eddie Judge just welcomed into their home.

Tamra and Eddie’s New Family Member

Tamra’s recent Instagram post continued: “Last Friday [Eddie] said to me ‘babe I’m ready, let’s go to the shelter and look at dogs.’ There’s no better way to honor Bronx [than] giving a homeless dog love [and] security.” And that’s just what the Orange County couple did.

“Meet Rugby, he’s a very energetic 6 month old Pitty (just like Bronx). He’s perfect!” Tamra wrote. “Thank you Jesus for this gift.” Along with her written update, Tamra shared a video of her perfect new “pitty.”

The adorable video showed Rugby leaving the shelter with a brand-new toy and a spring in his step. The dog practically bounced out of the shelter, and he continued his tail-wagging enthusiasm once he got to his new home. Further footage showed Rugby covering Eddie’s face in puppy kisses and learning to walk up the stairs. Check out the too-cute pooch in Tamra’s post

Tamra’s puppy post delivered on a promise. Last week, she shared a photo of her husband meeting their family’s new furry friend. “July 4th will be one year without Bronx,” she wrote in her caption.

Tamra’s post continued: “We are finally ready for another dog. So, today we went to the shelter and look at this cutie. He couldn’t be any more perfect. Can’t wait to bring you home on Monday.”

The Dogs of RHOC

In the comments, Tamra’s RHOC castmate Emily Simpson weighed in. “Awesome!” she wrote. “I can’t wait to get to that point too!” Emily knows what it’s like to lose a beloved pet.

“I had to put Fisker to sleep on Sunday, May 14th,” she recently shared on Instagram. “Two days later I had a hair appointment and I couldn’t stop crying. I asked her to remove all my extensions and cut my hair. I felt so heavy with grief that for some reason cutting my hair off felt therapeutic.”

Prior to Fisker’s passing, Emily welcomed a new dog into her home. On the June 7 episode of RHOC, she explained: “I just got a new dog like five months ago.” His name is Togo, and he’s adorable!

And of course, Shannon Storms Beador still has her trusty pal Archie in her life. Though the golden retriever had been feeling under the weather, Shannon gave a positive update on June 22. “Archie is feeling so much better, so he had a play date with his friends,” she wrote, showing the dog at his very own pool party.

See Tamra, Shannon, and Emily on RHOC Season 17. New episodes air on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
