Tamra's Fitness Tips: How to Stay Motivated
The O.C. Housewife and CUT Fitness owner answers your burning health questions.
The Real Housewives of Orange County's Tamra Judge knows what it takes to stay in shape, and she's spilling all of her secrets in a weekly fitness advice series here on the Dish. Last week, she gave us an example of her daily diet. This week, she's tackling something even trickier than sticking to a diet: staying motivated.
Facebook user Andee Harlow Clancy asked, "I fell off the fitness wagon... How do I get motivated again? I'm lost and need motivation like crazy." Tamra answers below.
Ask yourself, Andee, "How bad do you want it?" Well, you're not going to get it by sitting on the couch thinking about it.
The good thing about falling off the wagon is you can always get back on. The best way to get motivated is to find a fitness studio that will help you find your love for fitness. If you loved it before, you simply need to try new workouts that you will enjoy. Stick to the basics as opposed to going to some extreme workout place. You don't need to drag tires, lift super heavy weights over your head or run for miles on a treadmill to be effective.
Group fitness is a great way to get you motivated—it offers a variety of training techniques and challenging workouts you will love. In group training, you have the opportunity to meet new friends that will keep you motivated. Also, scheduling classes are great for people that like to stick to a routine. If you know you only have one hour to work out, why not schedule a class and get a full-body workout without even thinking about what you're about to do? Let your coach worry about that—all you have to do is show up and be ready to sweat.
