Like many parents, Taylor Armstrong knows that transitioning from high school to college life can be a difficult experience, as many young adults struggle to handle the responsibilities that go along with newfound independence. But when it comes to her daughter, Kennedy Armstrong, Taylor insists she isn’t too concerned.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

“She’s ready to go to college,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum recently told The Daily Dish. “She’s very independent and always has been and she’s definitely the kinda kid that could live on her own, like, no problem. She’s very put together… she just takes care of herself.”

Taylor said Kennedy’s self-sufficient nature stems from her experience as an only child.

“She grew up on her own like I did, in a way,” the former OC’Wife continued. “So, she just matured really fast and she’s ready to go.”

Where will Kennedy attend college? "As far away from mommy as possible"

Kennedy, who just attended her senior prom, is now gearing up to graduate from high school and embark on her next chapter… whatever that might be. Taylor told The Daily Dish that her 18-year-old daughter has applied to “a million colleges,” but has yet to make an enrollment decision.

“She applied to [the University of Colorado] Boulder and I said, ‘Oh my god, that would be perfect. ‘Cause we’re a big ski family. Like, I love it. That means I’ll stop into Boulder, and see you and then I’m gonna go up to Vail and ski for a while and see all my friends.’ And she’s like, ‘Never mind. Miami’… As far away from mommy as possible.”

Taylor says her daughter is eyeing universities in the South

Taylor, who appeared in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 17, said Kennedy has also considered schools in the South but isn’t sure how her daughter will adapt to the “conservative” culture.

“I think it’s gonna be interesting for her having grown up in California. I’m not sure she really knows that the South is — it’s just different,” Taylor explained. “I don’t mean politically… I would be interested to see if she loves that because it’s a complete change of everything she’s ever known, or if she’s like, ‘I don’t get it. Like, I don’t understand why these people are so polite. I have to go back to California.’”

Has Kennedy decided on her college major?

Taylor said Kennedy is also undecided on her major, as she “changes her mind a lot” and constantly discovers new careers on social media. But no matter what Kennedy decides, Taylor is confident her daughter will thrive.

“She’ll do damn good, and she’s very creative, so I think something, like, in design, interior design or something along those lines would be a better fit for her,” she continued. “She doesn’t like math… she’s not gonna be an engineer, I can tell you that. I think her whole goal right now with college is to go have fun. I’m sure she’s not the only one.”
