Taylor Armstrong's Hubby Promises "To Be More Engaging"

Russell is ready to come out of his shell.

By Lauren Metz

Don't expect him to start fist pumping to "Don't Stop Believin'" in season two, but Real Housewives of Beverly Hills hubby Russell Armstrong is vowing to ditch his robotic persona the next time you see him.

"I'm going to be more engaging," Taylor Armstrong's venture capitalist hubby tells The Daily Beast.

Russell's come under scrutiny this season for being about as much fun as a paper cut. Wendy Williams didn't mince words when she called him "a disgusting man," but the Texas native defends himself by saying, "I didn't really understand what we were getting into. I don't really watch reality television. And so we decided early on that this was Taylor's project; that I was going to be supportive, but just stay in the background. And that backfired."

That's certainly one way to put it. But Russell's focusing on the silver lining. "The one thing the show has done, it's made us refocus our marriage. And it's been wonderful."

Taylor seconds that in her blog and reveals that the couple recently took a trip to Mexico – the place where they were married – to address their marital issues head on. "We decided that was the place to return to in order to give our marriage the attention it deserved. It was sad at times and the discussions weren't easy, but, in the end, we decided to do the necessary work to keep our marriage and family together and to make each other happy."

Taylor and her Bev Hill castmates return tonight for part two of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion at 10/9c.
