Does Teresa Giudice's Father Want Her to Stay with Joe Giudice If He Gets Deported?
The Real Housewives of New Jersey nonno is vocal about his son-in-law like never before.
Teresa Giudice's father, Giacinto Gorga, spoke out about son-in-law Joe Giudice like never before in the November 20 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (clip above). After Teresa got off the phone with Joe, who was calling from ICE custody, Giacinto remarked how he told his son-in-law to apply for U.S. citizenship several times, but he never did. "He never did nothing right. He did everything wrong," Giacinto told his daughter during the episode. "[He's] gotta blame himself."
Teresa opened up more about the moment when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday night, explaining that the subject often came up with her father when Joe would have to wait in a different line for customs in the airport than the rest of the family when they went on vacation. "Yes, so my father used to always tell him, 'Go get your citizenship.' My dad really did tell him a lot of times," she said.
Andy Cohen then asked Teresa if her father thinks she and Joe should stay together if he does end up getting deported back to his native Italy. "He supports whatever makes me happy. That's what he says," Teresa shared.
Teresa has expressed uncertainty about the future of her marriage with Joe should he have to remain in Italy, although she told Good Morning America last week that she has no plans to file for divorce. "I don't know. Imagine, you lived in Italy and he lived here. I don't know. I mean, I don't know if that's a feasible relationship," she said, adding that whether or not she thinks she can find love again with Joe is "to be determined." "We're taking it day by day."
Giacinto visited Joe in Italy ahead of Teresa and her four daughters (Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10) earlier this month. The two appeared to have a blast while out together, whether it was breaking bread or spending time with family.
Unfortunately, Giacinto was not in good health upon his return to the U.S. Giacinto's son, Joe Gorga, confirmed earlier this week that his dad is in the hospital. “He has pneumonia,” Joe told Page Six. “He’s alright. He’s not that bad, hopefully. He’ll be okay. So let’s see what happens.”
