No surprise here, but Teresa Giudice's teenage daughter, Gia, couldn't hold back her excitement over her mom's release from prison on Wednesday, December 23. The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter headed to Twitter hours after her mom left the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn.

Despite being physically apart from her daughters for nearly a year, Teresa's lawyer told The Daily Dish that she was never far from Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana. "It's been very, very difficult for her and her daughters, but they've communicated," James Leonard Jr. said ahead of Teresa's release. "They've seen one another with visits and emails and phone calls. They've been able to Skype one another. She's been a daily presence in their lives. But, obviously, there's no substitute for actually not being there. So for her to come home and be reunited with them is something that both she and the girls are very much looking forward to."

Teresa originally received a 15-month federal prison sentence and entered the Danbury facility on January 5. She will serve the remainder of that sentence through home confinement in her Montville Township, NJ home and will wear an electronic monitoring bracelet through February 5.

Back in October, viewers were offered an inside look at the Giudice family's life while Teresa was away in the three-part special, Real Housewives of New Jersey Teresa Checks In. One of the more emotional moments included her phone call with Gia, which you can watch above.
