Teresa Giudice Claims One Aspect of Gabriella’s College Life Is “Like Jail”
The Housewife made the cheeky comment after her husband asked Gabrielle Giudice about her "bathroom situation" at school.
Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey knows a thing or two about serving time, something she recently referenced as she sees her daughter off for college.
In the teaser for Season 14, Episode 4, Teresa and her new husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas, rode through the Garden State with Gabriella Giudice in the backseat. Teresa was delighted for her second daughter, who was moving away to study at the University of Michigan, about 600 miles from the married couple’s Montville mansion.
“You’re going to Michigan!” the Namaste B$tches podcast host excitedly said.
The three of them briefly touched on college life just one day before Gabriella’s big move.

Louie turned in his seat to ask his stepdaughter about her “bathroom situation” once she was off to live out of state.
“I have to bring a shower caddy to the bathroom every day,” Gabriella explained.
Teresa, with a smile, responded with, “That’s like jail,” before the three of them had a good laugh.
Suffice it to say that Teresa might have understood all too well after serving 11 months of a 15-month sentence at a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. As chronicled in earlier seasons of RHONJ, Teresa and her first husband, Joe Giudice — also the father of Teresa’s four daughters — pleaded guilty in 2014 to charges of bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy law.
Teresa and Joe were permitted staggered sentences, meaning each defendant could serve their federal prison terms separately to accommodate having one parent at the home to care for the young children.
While behind bars, the Skinny Italian bestselling author developed a passion for yoga, which she still does today. The healthy habit even led Teresa to become yoga-certified upon her release from prison, shower caddies not included.
What is Gabriella Giudice studying at college?
Gabriella’s academic journey is a major storyline for Teresa as she “navigates her new family life” while “her emotions are at an all-time high” with the college move, per the official Bravo release. In Season 14, Episode 3, audiences saw a moving truck company collect the 19-year-old’s packed items, heading off for the Ann Arbor, Michigan school.

Joe Giudice — now living in the Bahamas following his deportation from the United States — jumped on an emotional video call with Teresa, Gabriella, Gia Giudice, and Audriana Giudice to support Gabriella as she prepped to go. Teresa’s new man also jumped in mid-chat, and everything was hunky dory.
“It’s a sad day, but it’s a good day as well,” Joe told his daughters.
Gabriella said she planned to study economics, to which Gia joked that she could handle their father’s finances.
For her part, Gia is back home after graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in criminal justice. She said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she planned on attending law school to fulfill her dream of one day being an immigration attorney.
“You know, out of all my daughters, Gabriella is the one who wants to spread her wings, and I can see her living in another country,” Teresa told producers in Season 14, Episode 3. “So, this is the beginning of her leaving, and I don’t know if she will come home when she graduates.”
Watch her journey continue in all-new episodes of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, airing Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.
