8 Things You Didn't Know About Heather Dubrow's Husband Terry Dubrow
Did you know the #RHOC spouse has rock 'n' roll and holy connections?
It's nearly impossible not to know who Dr. Terry Dubrow is these days. The Newport Beach, California-based plastic surgeon is all over your TV screen as the husband of The Real Housewives of Orange County's Heather Dubrow and fixing surgeries-gone-wrong with Dr. Paul Nassif on Botched.
But just because Terry is virtually everywhere these days doesn't mean we know everything about the good doctor. Believe it or not, there are still some things that haven't necessarily made it onto one of Terry's TV shows, but they're still definitely worth knowing. Prepare to have your mind blown, stat.
1. He Didn't Always Want to Be a Plastic Surgeon
Terry is one of the most recognizable plastic surgeons in the country today, but that almost didn't happen. He originally planned on becoming a heart surgeon, according to a 2004 interview with Newport Beach 714 Magazine.
So what made Terry change his mind? It was realizing that plastic surgeons could essentially perform miracles after he saw the transformation of a woman's face that had been completely burnt during a car accident, thanks to plastic surgery, during one guest lecture in med school. From that day on, Terry set out to help people just like her.
2. He Went to the Head of His Class
Terry didn't just attend the UCLA School of Medicine. He basically owned it. He served a three-year fellowship at the med school and was later appointed the chief resident of general and plastic surgery, according to the bio on his website. Go, Terry!
3. His Brother Was a Famous Rock Star
Terry's older brother Kevin Dubrow was the lead singer of the heavy metal band Quiet Riot.
The Dubrows were quite the opposite siblings. While Terry grew up to be a plastic surgeon, his older brother Kevin Dubrow grew up to be the lead singer of heavy metal band Quiet Riot, best known for the hit single "Cum on Feel the Noize." Sadly, Kevin passed away at the age of 52 in 2007, but we see that Terry still remembers his big bro onscreen on RHOC and off today.
4. He's Been on More Reality Shows Than You Think
Terry's first taste of reality TV fame came in 2004 when he appeared as one of the doctors on the controversial makeover show The Swan. He then went on to offer his plastic surgery services to the bride-to-be winner of the competition series Bridalplasty in 2010. After that, Terry's TV career really took off when his wife Heather became a cast member of RHOC, which was followed by Botched, the celeb plastic surgery talk show Good Work, and the Botched after show Post Op, which also stars Heather.
We're going to get a whole lot more Terry in the months ahead, too. Season 3 of Botched premieres this May, and the spinoff series Botched by Nature will also debut later this year on E!. This is ah-mazing news, because we could never get sick of seeing this guy on TV.
5. He's an Author
Heather and Terry's anti-aging guide may be hitting shelves this September, but you can already see the doctor's work in print. Terry co-authored the 2003 book The Acne Cure with Brenda D. Adderly. Clearly, Terry is a skincare wiz.
6. He Gets Way Too Much Joy Out of Trolling Paul
You'd be hard-pressed to find an episode of Botched where Terry doesn't poke fun at his fellow plastic surgeon Paul. But head to Terry's Instagram, and it's basically filled with jokes at Paul's expense. You have to admit that Paul is one phenomenal sport.
7. He Has a Famous Doppelganger
As you can see in the above Insta pic, Pope Francis is basically Terry's "brother from another mother." It looks like these two do share the same adorable smile.
8. He Has a Stinky Obsession
Terry hasn't been shy about his love of onion rings on RHOC, but this delicious passion bears repeating, especially because Terry takes such hilarious pics with his fave food on Instagram. We just hope he remembers to brush his teeth before kissing Heather.
