'The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection' Finalists Dish on the Season

Calvin, Dominique, and Jeffrey tell us what they really thought about the judges.

By Kim Moreau

And then there were three. As we close in on Tuesday night's The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection ultimate finale, I had a chance to sit down with the remaining designers -- Dominique Pearl David, Jeffrey Williams, and Calvin Tran -- and chat with them a bit about this season, and what they thought of the competition on the whole.

Since filming ended the designers have stayed in touch, even attending a swinging Christmas party as Calvin's house (Jeffrey said "my clothes were falling off I was dancing so much"). Obviously, looking back on Calvin's performance throughout the show, one wonders if he has any regrets about his behavior.

"Absolutely not."

While he might not have regrets, he does have a least favorite moment: the wedding challenge "panda" outfit. Though he thinks it wasn't his fault he didn't know exactly how to make a traditional Korean wedding gown, since it wasn't his expertise.

"You don't go to Barcelona and ask for Dim Sum," Calvin said.

For Jeffrey and Dominque, it was the Real Housewives challenge that was the hardest, with Dominique admitting that she should have gone home for the dress she designed for Jersey 'Wife Jacqueline Laurita.

Dominique also commented on her highly emotional demeanor on TV, admitting that the copious tears were a result of stress, and overall a learning experience.

"You learn a lot about yourself as a designer, and yourself, and what you can go through." Dominique said. "I think it's kind of freeing, even though everybody's watching you."

As far as what the competitors thought of their judges, Calvin, as usual, wasn't one to mince words,

"I like Iman very much," Calvin said. "I think Isaac (Mizrahi) is a b---h."

Calvin explained that he didn't fully trust Isaac's critiques, saying that "a person that listened to him [often] got sent home."

But how deep does that rift between Calvin and Isaac go? Would he speak to him at a cocktail party, per say?

"I would say hello, I say hello to everybody," Calvin said.

Jeffrey and Dominique were quick to defend Isaac, and at least the one thing the designers could all agree on was Iman's greatness.

"Iman was always there to hold your hand, to say, you it's going to be ok," Calvin said.

Not to throw out the b---h term again, but Jeffery does know that's what Iman might have looked like.

"She did come off as a b---h on the show when you watch it," Jeffrey says. "But she really wasn't. She really did have good feedback, and you knew she was working with great designers, and she knew what she was talking with her fabrics and things like that."
