Carole Radziwill Reveals the Hardest Part of the NYC Marathon and It Has Nothing to Do with Running

Will Carole Finish the Marathon?

Carole Radziwill accomplished a huge first last fall. The Real Housewives of New York City author ran the New York City Marathon on November 5, 2017, completing the 26-mile course around the Big Apple in 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 6 seconds, according to her results page on the New York Road Runners website.

Though we've seen how physically demanding running the New York City Marathon was for Carole (clip above), she told The Daily Dish ahead of the RHONY Season 10 premiere that it wasn't the running that really challenged her on the day of the race. "Running the New York City Marathon is such a thrill. It's such an iconic New York thing to do. So I'm glad I did it. I'm not surprised I finished because I knew I was gonna finish it if I had to crawl over that finish line," Carole shared. "But it definitely took a lot of mental power, even more than physical power. It's like a mental game, the marathon. Physically, your body's just gonna move forward. If you're strong mentally, that's the difference between finishing and not finishing."

Not only did Carole absolutely crush this goal, but she also earned the distinction of being the second most-tracked runner in the 2017 New York City Marathon, behind Kevin Hart from Hollywood, Florida, who most people probably mistook for the actor and comedian Kevin Hart. Carole also wrote about how the experience taught her a lot about herself and self-confidence in an essay in the March 2018 issue of Cosmopolitan.

So with all of that mind, would Carole ever run the New York City Marathon again? "I don't know if I'll do another marathon," Carole told The Daily Dish. "I think I'm a natural half marathoner or I've done half marathons before, and that to me feels more my speed. It feels more athletic and less of a mindf---."
