Vicki Gunvalson Shares an Update on Daughter Briana Culberson Following Her Surgery
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom thanked fans for their support.
Vicki Gunvalson's daughter Briana Culberson underwent surgery earlier this week due to complications from her lupus diagnosis. Now, The Real Housewives of Orange County mom is updating fans on her daughter's condition following the procedure.
Vicki shared an update on how Briana is doing after her surgery in a post on Instagram Thursday. "Thank you everyone asking about Briana," Vicki wrote. "She is at her home in NC resting with Ryan and the boys [sons Troy and Owen]. You are all so sweet. #LoveMyDaughter #LupusStinks."
Briana's husband, Ryan Culberson, first shared the news that she would be having a cardiac ablation, a procedure used to correct heart rhythm problems, or arrhythmias, in a post on Instagram on Monday, April 2. "Please keep my wife in your thoughts and prayers!" Ryan captioned a photo of Briana in the hospital in her new home state of North Carolina. "Her lupus is causing inflammation around her heart and is causing it to go in and out of irregular heart rhythms now requiring her to have a cardiac ablation."
Ryan showed his gratitude to fans as he also gave an update on Briana on Instagram on Wednesday. "Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers over these rough couple days!" he wrote in a post. "She is now at home resting peacefully."
Briana was diagnosed with lupus in 2016 after years of health challenges. She has undergone surgery on her thyroid, her leg, her neck, and she has had enlarged lymph nodes removed in the past.
Vicki shared with The Daily Dish in July 2017 that Briana has been "struggling" with her lupus ever since she was officially diagnosed. But Vicki knows her daughter will stay strong no matter what life throws at her. "I've got a great daughter there. She's just a great, great girl, very opinionated, very strong," Vicki told The Daily Dish. "And she's definitely her mama's daughter."
