This Is How Vicki Gunvalson Took the News of Brooks Ayers' Marriage, According to Shannon Beador
Shannon also has some thoughts on the recent The Real Housewives of Orange County wedding.
A new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County is upon us, and boy, has a lot changed for the SoCal squad. Not only have there been some huge changes in the lives of the O.C. ladies, but we also heard about a major life update for one of their exes in the Season 13 premiere.
Vicki Gunvalson shared that her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, was getting married during the RHOC season premiere. "My ex is getting married next weekend," she told her boyfriend Steve Lodge. "Pity the girl he's marrying."
Brooks married Christy Groves Lindeman in a small ceremony in French Lick, Indiana on March 24 after about a year-and-a-half of dating. "I'm moving on with life," he told E! News after the wedding. "I've never been better."
Of course, the RHOC crew also got to know Brooks while Vicki was dating him. And they formed some not-always-positive opinions about him, which they weren't shy about sharing.
But all of the drama surrounding Brooks over the years seems to be water under the bridge now for Shannon Beador. "When I heard that Brooks was getting married, I thought, 'OK, good for him,'" Shannon said during a recent interview with The Daily Dish. "I know that Vicki is through with him. I know they had a very tumultuous relationship, good and bad. And I know that she cared about him a lot when they were together. So there's a bit of a sadness. But they weren't right for each other, and she's much better off without him."
In fact, Shannon said that Vicki didn't even bat an eye when she heard the news about Brooks' wedding. "Oh, I think Vicki handled the news of Brooks' marriage amazing," she said. "But she's with a great guy right now. She's talking to him about it, so you can't act sad. She was great."
Shannon said that she's happy to see Vicki is in such a good place with Steve these days. "He's a good guy, and he's great for her," she shared.
Tamra Judge also recently told The Daily Dish podcast that she's noticed a change in Vicki since she and Steve started dating. "I think she's really trying as a person to be more caring for others and she's doing a pretty good job," she said. "I think maybe Steve has a lot to do with it. I think he's a pretty good influence on her. He seems like a really nice guy."
We'll see more of the new Vicki as this season of RHOC continues Mondays at 9/8c. Watch a preview of the next all-new episode, below.
