Karen Huger's father, Benjamin B. Wooden Jr., has passed away. He was 74.
Karen's dad passed away on Thursday, June 28 of natural causes, her rep recently confirmed to Page Six. He had been battling Alzheimer's disease. “There’s never enough time,” Karen told Page Six in a statement. “In my father’s memory, any donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are most appreciated.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac grand dame lost her mother, Georgia Raines Wooden, who passed away at the age of 71, on November 23. Karen's mother also suffered from Alzheimer's disease. "She's in a better place. Mom was a warrior," Karen shared with The Daily Dish about her loss earlier this season. "She's making me a better woman as I stand before you today, and that's pretty cool. She's still working."
Karen has been active in helping those impacted by Alzheimer's disease. In addition to her parents, Karen's mother-in-law Odessa battled the disease.
Fans saw Karen host the O Charity Dinner this season of RHOP in an effort to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. "It feels so good to see our friends and family get together for such an important cause," Karen said on RHOP of hosting the charity event.
