The Real Housewives of Potomac Returns for Season 5 with a New Cast Member

The Real Housewives of Potomac is back, and the ladies are bringing it like never before when Season 5 premieres this summer.

Take even just a quick gander at the above trailer for the new season, and you will be delighted to see the familiar faces of the RHOP squad: Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Monique Samuels, and Candiace Dillard Bassett.

There is also a new Cherry Blossom in town. Wendy Osefo, a professor, political analyst, entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three, joins the cast this season. "Wendy is Black Girl Magic personified," Candiace describes the newest Potomac Housewife in the trailer for Season 5. "She could read a book, honey, and she could read you down."

But the more things change, the more they stay the same with the RHOP ladies revisiting old drama and former flames in the new season. 

As she announced at the RHOP Season 4 reunion, Gizelle has rekindled her relationship with ex-husband Jamal Bryant, but their daughters (Grace, Angel, and Adore) may not be immediately on board with their parents getting back together. The "institution" that is Karen and Ray Huger's marriage may not be as solid as we once thought. Ashley and husband Michael Darby's baby bliss after welcoming son Dean in July 2019 may be cut short when some new rumors come about. Robyn is ready to make things official with ex-husband Juan Dixon again, but they may need to sort out some of their past marital issues first.

We'll also see the ladies struggle with family matters of all sorts in the new season as Monique juggles having three kids and a new pet bird and Candiace contemplates starting a family with husband Chris Bassett.

Monique and Candiace will also encounter some serious drama with each other that sends shockwaves through the whole RHOP crew. As Candiace says in the trailer, "We don't play in the P, honey!"
