Throwback Thursday: Kim Richards Cozies Up to James Spader
The Blacklist star once shared the silver screen with the RHOBH favorite.
Ever wonder what our Bravolebs looked like before they were Bravolebs? Each Thursday, we'll celebrate #TBT and dig through the archives for a vintage photo from the past—or revisit a memorable moment from one of our shows—and share some backstory on the picture. This week, we re-visit a snapshot of Kim Richards getting extra cuddly with James Spader!
Kim Richards famously proclaimed in her season one RHOBH intro tagline, "I was a child star, but now my most important role is being a mother." Over the past few seasons we’ve heard many references to her role in Witch Mountain films, but it turns out she also had her time to shine in the lesser-known ‘80s gem Tuff Turf.
A far cry from the posh life of a Beverly Hills ‘Housewife, in the film, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Kim plays a troubled Valley teen caught up with the wrong crowd. At one point in the flick, Spader and Kim’s character, Frankie, take a break from their mutual doe-eyed attraction and actually sneak into a Beverly Hills country club!
These days, Spader plays the leading man on the critically acclaimed NBC drama The Blacklist, while his former co-star Kim tries to keep herself off the proverbial RHOBH blacklist. Watch Kim maneuver her way through the tough turf of Beverly Hills when the new season of RHOBH premieres November 4, at 8/7c.
