Tamra Judge Shows Support for the Chrisleys After They're Cleared of Tax Evasion Charge in Georgia
The RHOC fitness expert weighed in on the Chrisley Knows Best couple's legal issues.
Tamra Judge is once again showing her support for Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley in their ongoing legal drama. After the Chrisley Knows Best couple were cleared of a tax evasion-related charge in Georgia, The Real Housewives of Orange County fitness expert shared a short but sweet message of support on Instagram. Alongside a photo of the couple, she simply wrote, "Cleared of charges!"
According to E! News, however, they have only jumped over one legal hurdle. The couple still faces federal charges for allegedly evading federal taxes in the same time period between 2008 and 2016. After being indicted in August, they pled not guilty to multiple charges.
In a new statement released on Tuesday (October 8) in connection with the latest news in their legal matters, Todd said, "Julie and I knew all along that we had done nothing wrong and that when the facts all came out, we would be fine. We're just glad that the Department of Revenue was willing to keep an open mind and look at all the evidence."
The couple's attorney Bruce H. Morris added in his own statement: "We have maintained from day one that there has not been any tax evasion by our clients Todd and Julie Chrisley. This settlement with the state is a big step in the direction of proving their innocence."
In a lengthy Instagram post, Todd also reacted to the news: "Since March 2017 we have lived with this storm of lies, fraudulent misrepresentations and betrayal regarding the false claims alleged against us with the Georgia Dept of Revenue, we’ve endured press standing outside our homes, agents confronting our kids in restaurants, and constant leaks to the press to bolster the lies that started this investigation, false claims of millions of dollars owed because the bigger the number the more people want to read about it, only to resolve the matter for pennies on the dollar...we have always relied on the excellent advice of accountants. This settlement and what we’ve been put through by the Ga Dept Of Revenue should be a wake up call to all taxpayers in the state of Georgia, these folks have the authority to raid your homes, businesses, confront you in public and harass your friends and family and do it with Confidence because they have no accountability unless you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to prove your innocence. I thank God for walking us through this part of the storm with grace, I thank our attorneys, Chris Anulewicz and Mike Bowers for closing the matter out and bringing to light the corruption within the Georgia Dept of Revenue and for everyone that has believed in us from the beginning and also for those who didn’t because your comments have made us stronger..."
Previously Tamra spoke about the Chrisleys' legal issues in an interview with ET, in which she shared, "I love Todd and Julie, and my heart is absolutely broken for them. They're going to get through this. They're leaning on the Lord, big time. I know the backstory, so you know, they're innocent in all this."
She continued at the time, "The truth always comes out. You know, they're going through a court case, so... it's tough. I mean, there's not too much I can say, but... They're hanging in there. It's been definitely hard."
