Tom Colicchio Has a Major Announcement to Make, But There's a Twist
It sounds like we'll be seeing a lot more of the Bravo's Top Chef head judge in the future.
Tom Colicchio has some major news about his career regarding an exciting project that’s about to set sail.
Fans may be surprised to learn that the Bravo’s Top Chef head judge has a very specific happy place in which he enjoys spending his time when he’s not putting his epic culinary skills to use.
“If anyone knows me, besides being in the kitchen, one of my favorite things in the world is to be out on the ocean,” Tom explains in the video above. “Yup, the open ocean and the salt air, open skies, absolutely can’t wait. And that’s why I have decided to be the executive chef for the next season of Below Deck. I can’t wait. I hope to see you there.”
Unfortunately, for fans of Below Deck, there’s just one twist that is preventing Tom from taking his talents to the sea. “April Fools!” Tom clarified. “No, but I will be judging this season of Portland’s Top Chef tonight. See you there.” And of course, new episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht air Mondays at 9/8c to fill all of your nautical needs.
Although we were pretty excited about the prospect of watching Tom become a yachtie, Top Chef Season 18 will be full of all kinds of exhilarating entertainment. When the show returns with a supersized premiere on April 1 at 8/7c, there will be 15 new cheftestants to meet, a new city to explore (Portland, Oregon), and a special twist that serves as a first in Top Chef history.
“I think we have some really stiff competition here in the kitchen,” host Padma Lakshmi recently pointed out in a first look at the new season exclusive to Bravo Insider. “This season is going to be an exciting one.”
