Padma Lakshmi Was “Not Surprised” to Learn This About Her Daughter, Krishna
The Top Chef mom says 12-year-old “Little Hands” has “always had a bit of a goth vibe,” after all.
Bravo’s Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and her daughter, Krishna, aka Little Hands, can have fun any day of the week, but lately, they’ve really been enjoying Wednesday — Addams, that is. On December 8, Padma posted a sweet mother-daughter photo, revealing that Netflix’s Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, is at the top of their queue these days.
“Lately, when Littlehands gets home, the first thing she wants to do is cuddle up and watch Wednesday together,” she captioned a collection of Instagram snaps of her and her 12-year-old girl over the years, adding, “I guess I’m not surprised — she’s always had a bit of a goth vibe.”
Of course, finding Krishna a “mysterious and spooky” wardrobe to rock year-round has provided some small sartorial challenges over the years. “Do you have any idea how hard it is to find all black clothing for a pre-schooler??” Padma added.
It seems she’s been able to pull it off just fine, though, as evidenced by all the stylish snaps she shared on IG. “[Krishna] was 3 years old when she first got into my eyeliner and I haven’t been able to keep her away from it since,” the Top Chef mom added. “Not that I want to, she’s so good at it! And eyeliner is a part of Indian culture, so I have no problem with her kohl lined smolder.”
The duo has certainly been enjoying catching up on some lost time lately. In a candid October 2 Instagram video, Padma shared a relatable look at the woes of being a “single working mom,” while filming Top Chef Season 20 in London. “This is the longest I’ve ever been away from [Little Hands],” she captioned the clip that she self-filmed in her hotel room’s bed. “I’m road weary. And lonely. And I miss my little girl. One more stop before home, to hold her tight. The end seems so close and yet still so far.”
She continued, “I just feel separated from her and kind of not part of her life.”
Ever since Padma “reunited” with Krishna on October 8, they’ve been having plenty of fun, sharing such activities as cooking stir-fried curry for dinner, listening to Doja Cat, and watching another Netflix favorite, Lucifer. As she aptly captioned a sweet November 10 slideshow, it seems her little girl has truly grown up “in the blink of an eye.”
