Eat, drink and be merry could be the adopted motto for the 32nd Food & Wine Classic, which took place over the weekend. It was attended by some of Top Chef's biggest stars who hit up Aspen for the aptly titled event.
Among the big-name foodies who appeared in Colorado were Gail Simmons and Nicholas Elmi, who cooked up and ate delicious culinary delights alongside fellow celebrity chefs. Top Chef Master's Marcus Samuelsson, who participated in a charity 5K run, was also there and got hang time in with celebrity chef Danny Meyer and Simmons.
Also appearing at the annual food-themed festival were Tyler Florence, Jose Andres, Andrew Zimmern, Jacques Pepin and Giada De Laurentiis, among others.
The Food & Wine Classic took place from June 20 through 22 and featured Simmons, Elmi and the others dishing about food to the 5,000 people who bought tickets to the event.
While Nicholas spent part of the weekend putting on a demo for the lucky folks who got the chance to see him cook live and in-person, Gail found an interesting way to kill time.
When she wasn't meeting with her fans or making treats at her own sundae station, the judge got the chance to hang with pirates. Well, at least chefs dressed up like pirates. Just another typical Saturday.
And for those wondering just how much everyone consumed over the course of the three days, Nicholas summed it up in one tweet: “1st cook book title 'How to gain 15 pounds in 3 days' by Nicholas Elmi and #fwclassic cowritten by @foodandwine #working title.”
