'Top Chef' Winner Kevin Sbraga Is Opening a New Restaurant
All the details on his pork-centric, Southern-style Philadelphia eatery.
Mazels are in order for Top Chef Season 7 winner Kevin Sbraga: he's set to open his second restaurant, the Fat Ham, this fall in Philadelphia. And if his past forays into the food world are any indication, it's set to be a giant success. Sbraga's first eatery, the aptly titled Sbraga, has been honored with several "Best New Restaurant" awards.
For his second venture, Sbraga plans to serve up Southern-style comfort food that could be found at Sunday suppers and on country porches, he says in a statement. The pork-centric menu touts Southern staples such as sorghum butter, benne seeds, pimento cheese and Carolina gold rice.
Other menu highlights include Country Fried Lobster with Succotash, Smoked Lamb Ribs with Green Beans and Ham, and, of course, a southern staple—pigs feet. But not just any old swine—these come with smoked gemelli pasta and tomato gravy.
