It’s been a tense season of Married to Medicine for Toya Bush-Harris and Quad Webb. Following some comments Quad made about Toya’s new home and finances in a conversation with Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Toya is responding to the situation. She opened up about it and her friendship with Quad on the May 15 episode of The Daily Dish podcast, which you can listen to, below.

“You know, honestly, it’s really sad,” Toya said of the ordeal. “I feel like my friends love to comment about my husband and I when we are in a great place in our life. When we were in a negative place, when we were renting, they were happy to come over and drink and party with us. But they’re not celebrating us when we’re in a great place in our life.”

“They’re looking for reasons to bring us down,” she continued. “They’re trying to find anything. And it’s just really sad. You know, I don’t understand it. I don’t understand friends that just can’t be happy for you. I feel like maybe they’re at a place in their life where they’re just miserable. And it’s said. With that, you just have to pray for your friends and hope that God changes their life so that they can stop projecting on you.”

Speaking of finances, Toya also had some things to say about Anila Sajja’s situation, teasing that the newcomer is “gonna get a rude awakening very soon.”

“I just feel like my friend is going through a situation where it was very familiar for me. I remember those times when I wanted a lot. I had this thing where everything, you know, you just want, want, want. But you’re not sitting down and you’re not realizing that you have to budget in order to maintain,” said Toya. “And I think that Anila has to realize that life is not about spending. But it’s something that her husband just hasn’t introduced to her. Her husband handles all the finances. And you’re gonna start seeing more of their dynamic in their household very soon.”

Toya also addressed Anila’s claim that she had been talking about her behind her back.

“I’ve known Anila since she was introduced to me by our builder. And there’s really nothing to talk about with Anila. I’ve said nothing but positive things about her. She’s a fun girl. I’ve brought her around my group as far as my tennis team. And I didn't even know where this was coming from. She blindsided me there. And I was looking at her like she was crazy,” said Toya. “I felt like she started hanging with Heavenly and the next thing you know, she became a nut. So I was just like, what are you talking about?…I had no reason to talk about Anila. I don’t talk about any of my friends. In this whole group, they all will never tell you that that’s something that I do. I’m very authentic. I’ve always been very honest, very truthful. And so Anila just seems like a nut.”
