The Vanderpump Rules Crew Supports a Member of Their Family Battling Leukemia
The SURvers have rallied around 31-year-old friend and makeup artist Jared Lipscomb.
Nobody knows friendship drama quite like the Vanderpump Rules crew, but when one of their own is down, they always put everything aside to come together and lift them up. That's exactly what's happening now as the SUR squad rallies around friend in need Jared Lipscomb, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Jared, who does the makeup for several of the women of Vanderpump Rules and who has appeared on the show, shared that he was recently diagnosed with leukemia in a post on Instagram on August 27. "Today I was diagnosed with Leukemia. Hearing it was surreal. But after many tears, and hugs from my mom, I'm ready for the next steps. It was detected early and I'm getting the best possible care. I'm starting treatment immediately," the 31-year-old wrote in a note on Instagram.
"This is scary as s--t [and] so much is unknown. But I do know that I love visitors, texts and messages so don't be shy to reach out. I can't wait to get better, feel better [and] start painting some beautiful faces again very soon. Love you all."
Jared immediately got a lot of love from several familiar faces from Vanderpump Rules and throughout the Bravo-verse, including Stassi Schroeder, Ariana Madix, Dina Manzo, Lala Kent, Brittany Cartwright, and Lauren Wirkus.
Brittany then took to social media to encourage her followers to donate to a GoFundMe set up for Jared in an effort to help alleviate some of the costs of his chemotherapy and subsequent stem cell transplant. "I love you to pieces Jared! - For those of you who may not know Jared, he is the sweetest and best guy I know... and of course the most fabulous makeup artist around! He was recently diagnosed with leukemia (which we all know he will kick its butt!) and is currently in the hospital for treatments. His insurance won’t cover his bills so he needs all the help we can give," Brittany shared in a post that featured a photo of herself with Jared. "Whether it’s sending prayers, donating to his GoFundMe page, or just sending him all the love it will all be greatly appreciated... You got this @jaredlips love you babe and I am praying for you everyday!"
Jax Taylor also showed his support for Jared on Twitter. "This is so sad, let’s help out our friend. This man has done so much for my wife and the rest of the girls on our show. We love you Jared!!!" Jax said, adding in another tweet that Jared "is part of our family."
Jared later showed his gratitude for all of the love he has received in a video in his Instagram Story. "I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the support," he said from his hospital bed. "I am absolutely blown away by the support and love everyone is showing me, especially on the GoFundMe, everyone sharing it, everyone donating to it. I cannot believe [it], I'm just blown away. And I just wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you, and I'll keep you updated."
He also wrote in his Instagram Story, "I don't have the eloquent words to describe how loved and supported I feel. Love you."
