Katie Maloney Reflects on Vanderpump Rules Season 1: “Time Really Flies”
The Vanderpump Rules OG says the experience “feels like it was yesterday… but also truly like a lifetime ago.”
What a difference a decade makes! Katie Maloney recently “caught a little bit of” a Vanderpump Rules Season 1 marathon that had her running to her Instagram Stories to share all the nostalgic feels.
“Oh my god, it was like a time capsule,” she shared with her followers on Monday, December 5. “It feels like it was yesterday, honestly, but also truly like a lifetime ago.”
While baking her first-ever apple tart, she had trouble wrapping her head around how much time has passed since she made her big TV debut. “It’s hard to believe that it was over 10 years ago that we filmed that season,” Katie added on IG. “Time really flies. But, yeah, that was fun.”
As longtime fans might recall, when Vanderpump Rules’ inaugural season premiered in January 2013, Katie was working at SUR, dating fellow OG cast member Tom Schwartz, and pursuing a career in the music industry. Check out a throwback “Meet Katie” video, above.
Fast-forward to now: Katie and Schwartz have married and divorced, and she is navigating the dating world once again. “I haven’t been wanting to get into anything serious, obviously, because I’m still trying to make myself a priority and make my happiness a priority,” she said on the December 1 episode of Nick Viall’s The Viall Files podcast. “But I’m still open to getting to know people, and who knows, if the man of my dreams walks in tomorrow, I’ll know it then.”
Earlier, during an October “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram, the Vanderpump Rules cast member dropped a whole bunch of life updates, including how her and Tom’s divorce affected her inner circle. “I didn’t lose any friends,” she revealed, adding, “I just discovered who wasn’t my true friend in the end.”
On the career front, she also gave a progress report on when her sandwich shop, Something About Her, is opening. Explaining that she and her castmate Ariana Madix were “working on it at the moment,” Katie promised to post more info when she had any to share. By mid-November, she said they were still “working on some things” but hoped to be open “as soon as possible.”
To quote her pal Scheana Shay, it’s all happening.
