Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz Confirm They Are Breaking Up
The Vanderpump Rules couple shared the news of their separation in emotional Instagram posts about "ending [their] marriage."
Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz shared with fans some sad news this week when they confirmed they are breaking up after over a decade together. Katie and Tom posted about the news of their separation in two separate Instagram posts on Tuesday (March 15).
Katie wrote about the decision on Instagram in a post that also included photos of her with Tom. "I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it's important that I'm open about my life with you. After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship," she wrote. "Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another's happiness. Thank you for all the kind words and support."
Tom posted his own statement, in which he shared, "Well this sucks. How am I supposed to capture 12 years of love in a f---in canned Instagram caption... Wanted to clear the air on some rumors floating around. Katie [and] I are separating. I'm not quite ready to use the 'D' word [because] it's too painful. Yes my heart aches but I'll be ok," he wrote, in part. He added, "Fully respect Katie's decision and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy," he wrote, in part.

The couple shared their ups and downs with fans over the course of their relationship, much of which was documented on Vanderpump Rules. The good, of course, included when Tom proposed to Katie in Season 4. They later married in 2016 and their wedding was shared with viewers during Season 5.
After sharing the news of their split, members of the Bravo family including Andy Cohen, James Kennedy, Shep Rose, Raquel Leviss, Scheana Shay, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Ariana Madix, Lala Kent, Lindsay Hubbard, Danielle Olivera, Mercedes "MJ" Javid, and more showed their support for the pair in the comments section of their respective Instagram posts.
