Vanderpump Rules SURver Scheana Shay and her first post-marriage boyfriend Robert Valletta aren't currently romantically involved, but the longtime friends remain almost as close as a couple (it's complicated, but he can explain). If his surname sounds familiar, it's probably because his older half-sister is Amber Valletta, an actress and ethical entrepreneur who was a supermodel in the '90s.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Rob recently posted a pic with his big sis, sharing that he rang in the New Year with her. He (cryptically?) wrote: "Rang In New Year’s Day with my sis @ambervalletta and some amazing new friends. One of my biggest lessons from 2017 into 2018 is that things don’t always work out the way you may have hoped or imagined. But Every little moment happens for a reason. It’s because the next step in life was created by the past step. Trust that the things you don’t know yet, will be the best things to come."

He also shared an unbelievable Throwback Thursday pic, starring a shot of him giving his best "Blue Steel" face, alongside his supermodel sis.

So, is the name "Amber Valletta" starting to ring a bell? Here's why you should know who she is.

1. She's been on the cover of Vogue 16 times

The Telegraph notes that Amber has appeared on the cover of Vogue more times than her '90s supermodel colleague Kate Moss.

2. J-Lo's infamous green dress? She wore it first

Donatella Versace's green plunging neckline gown made famous by Jennifer Lopez made its public debut on the runway in 2000 thanks to Amber.

3. Mindful manufacturing is important to her

Now 43, she's been sober since she was 25, but she admitted to ABC News that she became an addict when she was just 8-years-old.

"Once you kind of feed the monster, there's a switch and it takes hold," she said. "I sniffed markers, I sniffed glue, fingernail polish, anything that could give me a buzz ... then I found drugs that were around the culture of my family." She finally embraced sobriety because, "I didn't want to die. I had to be willing to lift the veil off the shame and say, 'I'm addict, I can't do this alone, I don't want to do this alone, I don't feel comfortable, can you help me?' I needed help from other people, so that's the way I stay sober."

5. Her son is getting into modeling

The family business is continuing into the new century; Auden McCaw, 17, is signed to IMG Models.

6. She respects the social media hustle of current models

"Those girls are hard workers and all that social media stuff is a talent in itself," she told British Vogue. "I’m obliged to do it for work, but if I wasn’t obliged, would I do it?”

7. According to her, she almost appeared on The Real Housewives

She hasn't commented publicly on her younger brother Robert's appearances on Vanderpump Rules, but she did tell British Vogue that she turned down the chance to appear on The Real Housewives.

"They’ve asked me before, actually. ‘Hell no!’” she said.

However, Amber isn't exactly a stranger to Bravo. Her home was featured on an episode of Million Dollar Decorators in 2012.
