Scheana Shay Shares Her Biggest “Regret” in Her Friendship with Katie Maloney
The “Good as Gold” singer also revealed where she stands in her friendship with Tom Schwartz.
Scheana Shay is looking back on Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules with a new perspective.
On the show, the Scheananigans podcast host encouraged Tom Schwartz, who was recently separated from Katie Maloney, to hook up with Raquel Leviss. The two did end up making out at Scheana’s August wedding to Brock Davies, and the kiss itself fractured Katie’s friendships with both Scheana and her ex.
Now that Scheana has been able to watch the show back — and in light of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s recent breakup amid cheating allegations and his situation with Raquel Leviss — she has a different point of view.
During an appearance on the April 19 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, host Andy Cohen asked Scheana if she “now regret[s]” trying to get Schwartz and Raquel to hook up.
“One hundred percent,” Scheana said, though she added that she “didn’t cheer” when the two actually kissed in Mexico because she “didn’t even know it was happening.”
She noted that she didn’t realize how much it had affected Katie until she watched the show back.
“Watching what Katie was going through, had I known all of that at the time, I would have never, ever cheered them on or had any support for that situation,” she said.
“It’s been honestly very hard to watch every scene with Katie, because my heart breaks for her in every scene that I see because I know her emotions were real,” Scheana said, before discussing another major regret she has from the season. “I just wish — and I said this to her when we hung out — I wish we had more conversations in person at the time instead of just the catty BS back and forth, because I think we could have gotten to where we are now [back] then.”
Scheana isn’t the only one who wishes she could change some things from the season. Katie, who watched Scheana’s wedding ceremony from the window of her hotel room after deciding not to attend, took to her Instagram Stories on April 12 to apologize to the “Good as Gold” singer for some of the comments she made.
“I just want to say the things that you didn’t hear me say, because I thought it was a beautiful ceremony. I loved the bridesmaids colored dresses [and] I loved Scheana’s dress,” Katie said. “And when I said I could cry, it was because the song choice that she walked out to was ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and I thought that was just perfect for the setting and everything. When I got back inside and said, ‘Weddings are beautiful, but not this one,’ I was going through a lot.”
Katie and Scheana have made amends after a difficult 10th season, and Scheana is still also trying to remain close with Schwartz.
“I have always loved Schwartz,” she said on WWHL about maintaining friendships with both exes.
