It wouldn't really be a celebration of all things The Real Housewives of Orange County without Vicki Gunvalson. And as the show celebrates 10 years of ups, downs, and sky tops, the OG of the RHOC is opening up about her epic run on the series that made history and launched all things Real Housewives. Though if you ask her, she didn't initially have high hopes for the show. ”I really never thought it was going to amount to anything,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
While 'Wives have come and gone since the show premiered on March 21, 2006, Vicki remains the only original 'Wife on the series. And in looking back on her decision to have her life chronicled on RHOC, she added, "I must have had a screw loose." She also says that she may not have been in her right mind with some of the fashion risks she was taking a decade ago. “I have not watched it since it was off the air," she said “I just know I wore really nasty-looking clothes.”
Vicki has certainly let people into her life over the last decade, not holding back when it came to sharing even her lowest moments between a divorce from Donn, and, of course the speculation around her ex Brooks Ayers' cancer diagnosis. Vicki has faced almost every kind of drama one can in front of the cameras. And she says whenever you see her on TV, you should expect to see nothing less than her real life. “I want to have a great-ass time, and I really don’t want to fight. I want to have a great show, and I want to have great friends on it,” she said. “I know my truth, I know I’m a lot of fun, and I know I can produce a great show — and it’s always going to be real.”
