Vicki Gunvalson Vows to Go on a "Witch Hunt" to Track Down Daughter's Former Doctor
The #RHOC mom opens up about Briana's health scare.
Briana Culberson's journey back to being healthy has not been an easy one. As The Real Housewives of Orange County daughter takes steps towards trying to figure out what is causing her illness, including moving her family back to the O.C., mom Vicki Gunvalson wants answers.
“She still is having residual effects from doctor's error in Oklahoma," Vicki told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday. "They were going to kill my daughter, basically. So, I got her out of there."
The mother of two moved back to Southern California after having a leg surgery in Oklahoma, but underwent several other surgeries over the years (including surgery on thyroid and removal of her enlarged lymph nodes). A biopsy back in November ruled out cancer, and was followed by a trip to the Mayo Clinic for further diagnosis. Still, as the mystery around her daughter remains, Vicki has some harsh words for the person who was treating Briana in Oklahoma. "Two things: you don't mess with my family, you don't mess with my money. My family is my everything, and I'm gonna find this doctor. He was going to kill my daughter. So, when I do find him, I'll probably pull him up against a wall and tell him what I think of him," she told ET. " I want to go on a witch hunt for him."
On Monday's episode of RHOC, viewers saw that Briana wasn't feeling well during the 15-hour car ride back to California. "We went immediately into the hospital. She was admitted three weeks in isolation. She had a cross- contamination, hospital-acquired infection from a hospital in Oklahoma," Vicki recalled. "Very, very sick.” Briana also shared on RHOC that was moving back to Orange County in part to be closer to her team of doctors, who have worked to help to get to the root of her health problems over the years. "Beyond that, she has enlarged lymph nodes all over her body," Vicki told ET. “We're trying to find answers. She just had a PET scan. We're still in the unknown stage. But she's sick."
As for how she's doing now, Vicki shared that Briana hasn't been OK'd to return to work. "It's been seven months … she's sick, but she's alive, and she's here, and we're gonna find out what it is. She's in the best hands right here [in Orange County],” she told ET. On Monday, Vicki posted an Instagram from one of Briana's doctor's visits, noting, "We are determined to find out what the heck is wrong with her!"
Briana's health journey will continue in next week's episode of RHOC. See a preview below.
