Every Thursday, celebrate #TBT with us as we open the vault to share photos and videos of Bravolebrities before they were famous--or revisit memorable moments from our shows. This week, we’re throwing it back to Kenya Moore’s Miss USA pageant win.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Over the years, Real Housewives of Atlanta fans have heard some back and forth between the Housewives over the merit of Kenya's Miss USA title. Well, for anyone who's ever wondered what happened on the pageant stage moments before Kenya went from being Miss Michigan to being crowned Miss USA, we’ve got it all right here for you!

"I think the judges can look into my eyes and see my heart and know that I’m a sincere person," Kenya assuredly answered when asked what she thought the judges saw in her. We have to hand it to Kenya, her poise, composure, and confidence during the final question was pretty "Gone With the Wind Fabulous." But final question aside, there's nothing like that crowning moment.

We can only imagine what was going through Kenya's mind as she strutted that Kansas stage giving the audience a signature pageant wave. That night, beaming with tears of jubilation, Kenya became the second African-American woman to be crowned Miss USA. She later went on to compete and place sixth in the Miss Universe 1993 pageant.
