Wendy Williams Gives the Real Reason She Squashed Her Beef with Nene Leakes
Wendy Williams explained all on Watch What Happens Live.
Wendy Williams and Nene Leakes recently ended their years-long feud, which delighted Andy Cohen when he heard about it while on vacation. So when he returned to the Bravo Clubhouse for Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen with Wendy as a guest, it was naturally a hot topic among callers who wanted to know why the reconciliation between the talk show host and The Real Housewives of Atlanta provocateur happened now.
"I'm going through a divorce, I'm rebuilding my life and Nene was one of the people I wanted to speak with, like, why are we fighting?" Wendy said. "I'm three decades in the game, so I'm just doing my job."
Andy wanted to know if the rift had anything to do with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Kevin Hunter.
"I don't know," she said. "Alls I know, I was raising a family, my kid is now off to school in Miami, I'm a bachelorette and I have time to think a lot about people."
Her assistant, whom she calls "Chief," gave Wendy Nene's number and she called her up: "I was like, 'Look, I don't know what your problem is with me or me with you, but where are you now? Let's have dinner.'"
She then revealed the last time she talked to Nene: "I talked to her earlier today," she said. "Such a good conversation."
Andy expressed how happy he is that the two are friends again.
"Me too," Wendy said. "She's a good one — and really loud!"
