When Is Joe Giudice Going to Prison?
Find out what's next for the #RHONJ husband.
Teresa Giudice is now home following an 11-month sentence in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Conn., but she will only get to spend a few months with her husband, Joe Giudice. Beginning March 23, 2016, Joe will serve his own 41-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, the same facility that Phaedra Parks' estranged husband, Apollo Nida, is currently serving time in.
However, The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom is currently focused on the present, and not what's coming in the new year. "We're really at this point just kind of taking things, I don't want to say one day at a time, but we're not moving too far ahead of, 'Hey, we need to get her home, get her situated,'" Teresa's lawyer James J. Leonard Jr. explained to The Daily Dish. "And those will be disucssuons that happen down the road, but they're not necessary [happening] at this point."
In 2014, Joe pled guilty to conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges. Following his sentence, he could face a possible deportation back to Italy in connection with the charges. And while he's remained quiet about the possibility that he could be deported, he has been more candid about the his role in the events that led to both him and his wife having to serve jail time.
"Well I was to blame, sure. I took full responsibility for everything, but they still put her away," he said on Today in October. "[I] absolutely [feel guilty]. I was supposed to go away, not her. And that was part of the plea, what I thought anyway. I don't know what happened in the court room that day... I feel like somebody just snapped my neck that day. I felt the pain, the chill going down my spine. I couldn't believe it."
Earlier this fall, Joe also appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Teresa's brother, Joe Gorga. Check out a moment from their sit-down, in which the two RHONJ husbands discuss Teresa's sentence, below.
