Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Ciara Sets the Record Straight on Where's She's From
Ciara Duggan says she gets asked about her country of origin all the time.
Ciara Duggan has been getting a lot of questions these days, and no, they don't have to do with her relationship with Paget Berry or the latest Below Deck Sailing Yacht drama. Apparently, what fans really want to know about is the deckhand's country of origin.
One Below Deck Sailing Yacht fan recently asked Ciara on Twitter if she is British like her boyfriend, Paget. "Nope! I get asked that a lot but I'm actually American haha," Ciara tweeted in response.
Though Ciara's roots may be in the United States, she has been globetrotting since she was a teenager. "I've been living and/or working on sailboats since I was 15," Ciara shared during the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1 premiere. "My parents, they talked about sailing since before they even had kids. They took like a three-day sailing course, just for the fun of it and decided to move the whole family to Spain to go live on a sailboat. But they didn't actually know how to sail. They hired Paget on board to teach them about sails, and that's how we met."
Paget then introduced Ciara to the world of yachting. She got her first job in the industry when she was 17, working as the sole stew and crew cook aboard a 27-meter sailboat in Spain and has been working as a sole stew, chef, first mate, and now deckhand on yachts ever since, according to her bio on BravoTV.com.
Ciara is still living overseas today. She and Paget are currently working on a boat in Italy.
You can catch Ciara, Paget, and all of the Parsifal III yachties on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Mondays at 9/8c. See what's coming up for the crew, below.
