They're having the time of their lives. And now you can (dance), too. Bravo's new series, Dancing Queens, premieres May 9.
Ready to dive into the world of professional-amateur dance competitions? Here's everything you need to know to watch the show.
What is Bravo's Dancing Queens?
The drama-filled new series follows a group of six determined ballroom dancers in the professional/amateur circuit — the fastest growing division of ballroom dance in the world — as they prepare to face off against one another in competitions across the country. Known as Pro/Am student competitors (or more informally as amateurs), these women pay professional dance partners to compete with them while also spending top dollar on hair, makeup, outfits, travel, and practice time.
“From stay-at-home moms to business owners and a finance exec, these women put their lives aside and negotiate time away from their families when it comes to dance,” a press release explains. “In the ballroom, they maintain their composure, but behind the scenes, the women are willing to sabotage their frenemies in the name of competition, even going as far as poaching pro partners for a chance to win. These dancers share an obsession with winning, no matter the cost.”
