The former golf reporter is a married mom of four, and she met her husband, Matt Ginella, on the golf circuit. Learn more about the couple now!

What is Matt Ginella's job?

Per Matt's LinkedIn, he is a "Travel Insider and Storyteller." He is currently an Executive Producer at Fire Pit Productions (and his Instagram bio states that he also founded the company).

Elsewhere on his Instagram, Matt shared that he's the host of Ginella’s Journeys, BONFIRES, “In the Dirt," and The Fire Pit Podcast.

Matt previously worked for seven years as a Travel Insider for the Golf Channel, and as a Senior Travel Editor and Director of Photography for Golf Digest. 

Before that, from 1995 to 2001, Matt held two separate roles at Sports Illustrated.

Where did Matt Ginella go to college?

The RHOC husband is an alum of Saint Mary's College of California. Matt graduated from the school with a degree in Communications in 1995. He later attended Columbia University for his Masters of Arts in Journalism.

How did Matt Ginella and Katie Ginella meet?

As Katie revealed on the show, she had an instant connection with her now-husband.

"The first time Matt and I met, I was like, 'Damn, he is so hot.' Fell in love at first sight," she said on RHOC Season 18, Episode 4. "But then told me he would meet me out for dinner with a big group of friends. Exhausted, I had worked 14 hours that day, I got ready, did my makeup, and he didn't show up. I was like, 'Screw this guy.'"

A producer then asked what Matt's excuse was for not showing up. She said, "He was tired. He had to get up at 3 a.m. to do the morning show at [the] Golf Channel."

Though her second impression of Matt was not the best, she said that the two "just kept talking."

"And I was going through [a] divorce, so he was really patient with me, and then he was like, 'OK, I'll wait. And he did."

After waiting patiently, Matt and Katie embarked on a relationship.

When did Katie Ginella and Matt Ginella get married?

Matt popped the question with a purple sapphire ring when Katie was still living in Orlando, Florida. 

Matt and Katie then wed on October 15, 2016 at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri. Katie was actually pregnant when the two exchanged vows, and they welcomed their only child together, a son named Bandon, in May of 2017.

"I think at the time I was 11 weeks pregnant, and we announced at dinner after our wedding that we were having a baby," she explained to The Daily Dish in July 2024. "So that was definitely a giant secret. People were like, 'Why aren't you drinking?' And I was like, 'Oh just stressed, you know' but that was why."

Katie and Matt celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in October, and Matt gave Katie "a little bit of an upgrade" in the ring department. To commemorate the milestone day, Matt gave Katie an emerald-cut, solitaire diamond ring, which has been seen on the show.

How many kids do Katie Ginella and Matt Ginella have?

In addition to their shared son Bandon, Katie is also a mom to three older children, Kaili, Gavin, and Maxon).

Kaili lives with Katie full-time. On RHOC Season 18, Episode 2, Katie shared that one of her sons was finishing out the school year in San Diego, while the other lived in Atlanta full-time with his dad.

Katie's eldest child, who was born on her 20th birthday, has a special bond with Matt. 

"Kaili and Matt have a very strong relationship," Katie shared in an interview on RHOC Season 18, Episode 2, noting that her daughter considers Matt to be her adoptive dad.
