Who Will Win at the 2016 Golden Globes? Retta Knows All

Retta doesn't just star in beloved TV shows like Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce and Parks and Recreation. She's also a huge TV fan. (Seriously, you need to check out her Twitter feed for her hilarious musings on today's hottest shows.) So naturally, The Daily Dish had to ask Retta who she thinks is going to win big at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night (which you can see in the video above).

This was no easy task. For one thing, the category of Best TV Drama is packed with heavy-hitting nominees, which include EmpireGame of ThronesMr. RobotNarcos, and Outlander. "Outlander has really good sex scenes," Retta told The Daily Dish. "But Empire, it’s just juicy all around. And it’s good music, so I'mma go with Empire.”

Though you might think Retta would have an especially difficult time deciding between her former Parks and Rec co-stars Aziz Ansari and Rob Lowe, both of whom are nominated for the Best Actor in a TV Musical or Comedy category for their work in Master of None and The Grinder, respectively, the choice was unexpectedly easy for her to make. “Jeffrey Tambor. He’s so good. He’s so good in that part. Killing it," Retta said of the actor, who is nominated for his work in Transparent in the category, which also includes nominees Gael Garcia Bernal for Mozart in the Jungle and Patrick Stewart for Blunt Talk. "You know, I love my Parks peeps. [Jeffrey]’s blowing it out of the water.”

However, Retta doesn't seem completely set on who gets her vote in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category just yet, which includes nominations for Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), Taraji P. Henson (Empire), and Robin Wright (House of Cards). “This is gonna be a weird one between Taraji and Robin. Robin is who I want to be, and Taraji is who I can be — and actually more their characters," Retta contemplated. "I’m gonna say Taraji. That would have been my vote. But Robin, fabulous. I think Robin might be the reason I like to wear white, because she wore that white cropped blazer to the Emmys one year, and I was like, 'That bitch.' She looked amazing. I was like, ‘Really, cropped? A cropped blazer and pants to the Emmys? And you look amazing? Booooo.' But I love her for it.”

Check out all of Retta's predictions, and be sure to tune into the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 10 at 8/7c on NBC.
