Guess designer Paul Marciano is infamous for making superstars out of unknown models, being responsible for launching the careers of Claudia Schiffer, Kate Upton, and Adriana Lima to name just a few. But his discovery of Gigi Hadid might just be his most intuitive one yet—Gigi started modeling for Baby Guess at the age of two!
"I've shot her since she was a baby!" Marciano boasted to Glamour. "And now she’s a superstar, and I barely can book her because she’s untouchable. She’s untouchable!"
Marciano has been friends with Gigi and her family—including mom Yolanda Foster—for Gigi's whole life. "She's best friends with my daughter and my son. She is family to me. I'm still Uncle Paul to her. Since Gigi was born, I knew she was going to model for me," he explains.
And now that Gigi's all grown up, the blonde beauty is the face of the brand's 2015 campaign and, according to the designer, meets all the requirements of a perfect Guess girl. "She has to be feminine, voluptuous, sensual, confident, strong, independent, and stand for what she wants," he lists. "If you knew Gigi personally, she is it. She's a superstar."
