Why Is Tom Schwartz Stressed About His Wedding to Katie Maloney?

Organizing his impending nuptials to Katie Maloney hasn't been easy for this #PumpRules star.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Katie Maloney may have already found the wedding dress of her dreams, but planning for the big day isn't going as smoothly for her groom-to-be Tom Schwartz. Though the Vanderpump Rules star may not be sweating his outfit just yet, he is having some difficulty with another often challenging area of wedding planning: the guest list.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

“The guest list is the biggest stress factor for me,” Tom told Page Six last Friday. “I know so many great people around the country and the world. But the usual suspects will be there, my ‘Vander’ buddies. I’m more stressed about that than anything else.”

Well, at least we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that much of the Vanderpump Rules squad will likely be there to see Tom and Katie tie the knot, which is more than we can say for when he proposed to Katie this season of the show. But even so, Tom's ability to keep it all together during the big moment was seriously impressive. “I felt an air of cool, calm and collectiveness,” he said during the interview. “Everything felt good. I had the perfect ring, I had close friends there and I had a good game plan, I just needed to let everything fall into place.”

Katie, Will You Marry Me?

Two of those on-again, off-again friends not invited to watch Tom pop the question were Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder, who later went against Lisa Vanderpump's wishes and crashed the couple's engagement party at Villa Rosa during the Season 4 finale. Surprisingly, Lisa allowed Kristen and Stassi to stay, and that was very indicative of the kind of person she is, according to Tom.

“Maybe her reflex instinct was ‘Oh, f***,’ but Lisa is very smart and she’s very wise,” he shared. “Even though it was at her house, the day wasn’t about her and she knew our history, and she took that into consideration.”

The Most Awkward Engagement Party Speech Ever

Tom also revealed to Page Six that he and Katie are hoping to get married within the next year. Though they haven't settled on an exact location for the ceremony just yet, they've got their eye on few potential places. “We’re keeping it in California,” Schwartz revealed. “We want to be surrounded by nature and be a bit secluded.”

Well, maybe not too secluded. We may get to see the big day on Vanderpump Rules in the future, after all. “We talked about it, and we’ve lived so much of our life on camera that we would love to film the wedding," Tom said.

At least we can always revisit Tom's unforgettable proposal to Katie for our daily dose of cuteness.
