Why Jill Zarin Almost Didn't Come Back to RHONY
And who talked her into sticking around for Season 4.
This week brings the return of our beloved Real Housewives of New York City, including Jill Zarin, who revealed this week that she almost didn't make it back for Season 4.
"There's always a Housewife or Housewives who 'take a hit,' as I like to call it," she told the NY Daily News. After watching a close relationship with RHONY alum Bethenny Frankel crumble, Jill also had to deal with a three-Housewife pileup. "I was ganged up on by Alex (McCord), Bethenny, and Ramona (Singer)," she said. "It's so last year and it's so over that I don't want to talk about it anymore... But let me tell you, it's hard to fight three against one. One-on-one is one thing. Three on one, not so even."
Life in front of a lens certainly isn't easy, and after last season's mishaps, Jill wondered if she could continue as a Housewife. "I asked my husband, Bobby, 'What should I do?' And he said, 'Don't leave,'" she said. "My family felt that I wasn't portrayed accurately, that I needed to come back, to have another round at it. Then, if I wanted to leave, I leave with my head held high."
And with that, Jill returns with her fellow RHONY this week for a season that highlights her friendship with newcomer Cindy Barshop (who she credits as "helping me get my mojo back") as well as the development of her new shapeware line (we can expect Skweez Couture on the shelves this summer). And regardless of whether or not she decides to stay on past this season, she's confident that her experience on the show has been a positive one. "I'm proud to be a Real Housewife," she tells the Daily News. "I would never be less than proud of doing something I chose to do."
