Get details on Taylor Ann Green's confession about her feelings for Shep Rose and see how he responded.
Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green may have broken up long before Southern Charm Season 9 premiered back in September, but the exes have struggled to stay away from one another ever since then — and not just because they belong to the same friend group.
So, it was no surprise that Shep and Taylor found themselves discussing the possibility of getting back together on the Southern Charm Season 9 finale, which aired January 4. What was the end result, though? Keep scrolling to find out and get all the details on their emotional conversation.
Taylor Ann Green's Feelings for Shep Rose
In the lead-up to Shep and Taylor's conversation at Whitney Sudler-Smith's party, Taylor opened up to her friend about the lingering feelings she had for her ex. As she put it, "Our friendship has been a little bit confusing. Like, everyone, they're all like, 'He still loves you.'"
She further elaborated in a confessional interview, explaining, "My interactions with Shep in the past few weeks have been positive and good. I'm really glad that we've been able to have a good friendship, and I sometimes hope that maybe there might still be something there."
Back in conversation with her friend, Taylor added, "I do love him. I miss our relationship and I do want to have that stability with a partner."
Why Shep Rose Didn't Want to Get Back Together with Taylor Ann Green
Taylor ultimately expressed her feelings to Shep after they sat down and he said, "I want to get to a place where we can be super supportive and kind. And over the last couple months, we've made a really cool step."
Replied Taylor, "My cool step, it was in hopes for something more."
Shep was surprised to hear her say that, and asked, "Your cool step was in hopes for something more? Why? Do you want to get back together?"
"Possibly," Taylor responded. "I'm a hopeless romantic, and so at the end of the day, that happiness outweighs all the rest. I found that you loved and cared about me, but I also care about us."
Shep, however, wasn't on the same page. "Taylor, us is over," he said. "I don't think this is repairable."
Where Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green Left Things
The two had a brief back-and-forth about how Shep would feel if Taylor instead pursued a relationship with Austen Kroll, but eventually, he reverted to his original talking point.
"Can we co-exist and be supportive? Just forget, for now, [about] the romantic stuff," Shep said. "Do your thing; I'll do my thing. I'm still gonna message you, but if that f-cks with your head — just rudimentary communication — you need to let me know."
"I think it might," Taylor replied. "I know that sounds selfish, but I think I need to be selfish in this moment."
Shep apologized and pledged to be her "biggest advocate" before concluding in a confessional, "It breaks my heart. I want to make her happy, even if I'm not with her. But I made the right decision. And maybe we can be happy in the same realm and be happy for each other, and that's my big goal."
