Rarely Seen Side of Anthony Bourdain Shines in Wife's Throwback Video With Their Giggling Daughter

The tributes to Anthony Bourdain tolled in on June 25, what would have been his 63rd birthday — and a day now known as #BourdainDay after the chef's friends Eric Ripert and Jose Andres organized and publicized a day of social media memories.
Among the most powerful — and revealing — tributes to Bourdain came in the form of a throwback video shared by his estranged wife, Ottavia Busia. She shared on Instagram a moving — and infectious — clip of Bourdain swimming around in a pool with their daughter, Ariane, as a toddler riding on his head. (Ariane is now 12 years old.) By all accounts, Bourdain was deeply devoted to his daughter and she was a light in his life.
Ariane can be heard giggling with unfettered delight as her dad maneuvers her around the swimming pool — then gives him a few loving knocks on his head when he ends the ride.
She's taking after him, too — having recently revealed her own talent as a graphic artist, following in her dad's footsteps. His own graphic novel is set to be made into a TV show.
