Chopped judge Scott Conant has weighed in on the fast food chicken sandwich wars — and (trigger warning) this might be hard for some people to hear.
In case you (somehow?!) missed it, Chick-Fil-A has been having a major moment within the cultural zeitgeist, as its chicken sandwich has soared to cult status — and become a lightning rod for comparison with other fast food chicken sandwiches, namely Popeyes, which has been selling out its own version.
Indeed Chick-Fil-A's chicken sandwich has rabid, vocal fan across the country — but it turns out Chef Conant is not among them.
The chef, who also appeared as a guest judge on multiple seasons of Bravo’s Top Chef, responded to a fan during an ask-me-anything session on Instagram who asked, "Popeyes chicken sandwich or Chick-Fil-A?"
The chef didn't hesitate — or equivocate — to answer: Popeyes.
