Chrissy Teigen Reveals Her Pregnancy Cravings (And What's a No-No With Her "Crazy Acid Reflux")
Plus, the model mama shares what's different this time from her first pregnancy with daughter Luna.
Chrissy Teigen is an outspoken lover of food — not to mention a cookbook author. And in what position does that leave her when pregnancy imposes restrictions, aversions... and cravings, too?
Well, Chrissy Teigen's pregnancy cravings this time around encompass a fairly broad range of foods — but mainly carb related — according to her responses in a recent interview with Food & Wine.
"Now I’m entering that phase with crazy acid reflux," she said. "It’s not a bad thing because I can only eat pasta and potatoes. I can do hamburgers." And that works out well given her partnership with McDonald's (which also yielded this pretty amazing award season commercial).
"But I can’t have Thai food and I love crazy spicy food," she added. She recently admitted that her ancestral Thai food really informs her cooking now, even if she was once ashamed of it. Additionally, she said, "I definitely am craving sandwiches a lot, like deli sandwiches."
This time around, the pregnancy cravings are different than they were for Teigen when she was pregnant with her daughter: "I think with Luna, they were much more specific. I really wanted meat and milk with her. I wanted sour candy. I feel like little boy isn’t as picky as Luna was."
And is there any indication that what happens in the womb stays in the womb when it comes to mama's cravings and a developing baby? Maybe not, it seems. Teigen told Food & Wine, "It’s funny to see [Luna] out now. She’ll eat anything."
