Models Accessorized With Cheetos on a Fashion Week Runway — And We're *Here* for It
PSA: Gas-station snacks are suddenly very fashun.
Fashion Week has all the trends, parties, celebrity appearances, and runway shows a human being could want. But, it's been sorely lacking in snack foods — until now. It is with great pleasure that we inform you: Cheetos are now officially on trend, and there's no need to finish your bag of snacks before hitting the runway. So that's a yes and another yes from us.
You can thank Chromat, a New York-based fashion brand, for giving orange-powdered cheese its moment in the sun. The edgy label hosted its Fall 2018 presentation at New York Fashion Week, and let's just say: The diverse cast of models wasn't the only thing that was Flamin' Hot. (See what we just did there?)
To complement Chromat's florescent rompers, dresses, and raver pants, models clutched bright orange bags of the cheesy chips. But, the Cheetos didn't only serve as props. Nope! Models actually crunched on the salty snacks as they walked. Some even used bungee cords to keep the snacks affixed to their hips. Iconic.
We imagine the direction was give me some more Chester Cheeta.
Crunch it, crunch it ... and, twirl!
You know what the moral of this story is, don't you? Cheetos never go out of style. And, related: Flamin' Hot orange is the new black.
Looks like stained hands and a solid crunch are très féminin after all.
