The Fiji Water Girl Is Multiplying, and It's Freaking People Out

Fiji Water Girl, who first made headlines at the Golden Globes, appeared in new incarnations at the Critics' Choice Awards.

While mere mortals and celebrities alike are still buzzing slash griping about how a rep for Fiji managed to photobomb a ton of A-list stars' pics on the Golden Globes red carpet, the water company delivered a new version of its wildly viral promotion when three Fiji Water Girls showed up at the 2019 Critics' Choice Awards.

People had a lot to say about the stunt (somehow, yes, the meme is still a thing) — and in part because the original Fiji rep, a Canadian model whose name is Kelleth Cuthbert, wasn't there. (She's recently been seen cuddling kittens, though, so she's probably OK.)

“We want the OG Fiji Water Girl back!” one fan spotted by People tweeted, echoing the sentiments of many others on social media.

It seems you can put on a blue dress and serve water on an award show carpet, and be a Fiji Water Girl — but it still won't make you the Fiji Water Girl

The Fiji water phenomenon has gotten a lot of gears turning when it comes to photobombing as promotion. Case in point: a mysterious man hawking Joey's Burgers photobombed Critic's Choice host Taye Diggs.

Keep an eye out for this kind of photobombing at the next two big awards shows: the Screen Actor's Guild Awards on January 27, followed by the Grammys on February 10. By then, people might be totally over the Fiji Water Girl... or maybe not.
